IDE_CMT no send on F02 controller

#1 by Mr.T , Thu May 29, 2025 9:09 am

Hi CQuante,
I have a f02 controller and I noticed that inside the robot there is no ide_cmt program that contains the project structure. I simulated it also with K-Roset and indeed after a full load of the project the CMD file is not present in the controller. Can you please check?

Dear Mr.T,
thank you for the information! I will check with my KHI colleagues.

IDE_CMT was included at my request before I started the K-IDE project. K-IDE is checking the firmware version to realize if this feature is present (in the hope that it will be there forever). If it's missing in any new firmware version it's either a bug or someone (firmware developer) has decided to remove it.

BTW: can you please tell me your firmware version?

I got an answer from my colleague from KHI.

There's no change in the support of the IDE_CMT section, but it is possible that an option in .ROBOTDATA1 is switched off. Can you please check the option "OP_IDECMT"?

If it is turned off, you can reactivate it with this option file data:

.ROBOTDATA1
OP_IDECMT ON -4324
.END

You know how to update the option data with K-IDE:

  • Open the current project in K-IDE and connect to the robot
  • Search for "OP-IDECMT" in AS sourcecode
  • Change the single line to the content shown above
  • Select the line
  • Right click the selected line and select "Send selected section data to the robot"
  • Restart the robot

Please give me an info if that was the case! - Thank you!

Hi cquante,

Sorry I'm only responding now, but I haven't had a chance to try anyway the option is on.

OP_IDECMT ON -4324

Hi cquante,
I have done other tests by changing the project and changing the document structure, even using the “load project documentation” option the ide_cmt program, is not present in the controller.
Would a backup of the controller be useful to you?

Hi Mr.T,

thank you for your test!

I can reproduce the issue using K-Roset with the firmware you reported.

Latest K-IDE (not for public yet) will check the option and turn it on after request. But even if the option is switched on, there is no chance to store on and receive IDE_CMT section data from the controller.

I'm in contact with KHI.

Hello,
One issue that i found regarding this IDE_CMT is that when I make export of the In/OUT/INT signals the file will have this structure :
.* IDE Comments
.* @@@ SIGNALS @@@
.* P_select Sermnal care reseteaza a1_principal
.* UI_home_pos1
.* UI_take_raw1 .... and continue with the rest of the signals

If i change manually the structure to :
.IDE_cmt
@@@ SIGNALS @@@
P_select Sermnal care reseteaza a1_principal
UI_home_pos1
UI_take_raw1
.end

the data can be sent to the robot and can be received after .
SO I think the problem is with the structure of the file that is sent to controller THE " * " will make the lines as coments and not load the data to controller.

the problem is with all controllers. I think an old version of KIde worked good on this matter.

Imports and exports are slightly different from saved projects and upload/download data. Exports are not intended to be used as data to upload to the robot, but to be used as imports for other projects. Comments in exports may or may not be a complete set of all comments, but it may be a subset for the specific data you are exporting. Therefore, unlocking the exported IDE_CMT data may lead to a loss of comment data in the robot! Please do not use such tricks!

If you like to update the comment data in a remote robot via export file, please use "Export project documentation" instead (context menu of the root node in "AS file") and upload that file to the robot. It contains the full set of comments that are stored in the K-IDE project.
