Error when uploading IDE comments

#1 by FilipTokarcik_SDA , Tue Oct 06, 2020 4:31 pm

Hello guys,

I noticed a problem when uploading project using Send AS file to robot.
This pic is from K-Roset, but I get exact same error on real robot BA006L :

I tried uploading empty project, also same errors, I get file load completed with error, and then it shows none in error view.

I found out, that when uploading whole prject and checking the IDE comments generates the error.

So far I found it does on BA robots and I just tested virtual RS20 ... also the same.

KIDE version is 0.9.6.5.
I tested 0.9.6.4 and it does it also.

Also question: what acutally is IDE comment ? Is it important?

Thank you

We didn't encounter any special problem regarding IDE comments. But to be honest I didn't check with BA type of robots.

On RS020 types of robot the IDE comments were tested well, so it should not generate errors while loading.

IDE comments are used to store any special things of the K-IDE like variable comments, sub-variable definitions, program order. It's located in special sectors in the AS file. For older firmwares it's stored in a special program (IDEComments__) and for newer one it's stored in a section called .IDECMT. You can work without IDE comments on robot side without getting trouble but then you cannot receive the K-IDE-specials when loading the whole project from the robot.

Can you please send me some or all of the following:
  • A sample AS project file that makes trouble
  • The log files from your "temp" directory of K-IDE (C:\Program files\KIDE\Temp)
  • The robot's firmware version number
  • The K-Roset project

Thank you!

The bug is fixed now. Please find the update here: Update 0.9.6.5 20201007

The arc welding firmware doesn't support section ".IDE_CMT" for storing IDE comments. If K-IDE tries to send the section to the robot's controller all lines of the section are reported as an error and comments are not stored in the controller.

The fix uses the "old style" program for storing IDE comments in the arc welding controller.

Thank you for your report!
