Problem with opening the manuals

#1 by Roger_Kaisereng , Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:58 pm

A Happy New Year to all

I installed KIDE on my Windows 11 computer and wanted to open the manual. Unfortunately, it does not open.

Then I wanted to look up a command with F1. The PC crashed and had to be restarted.

I am using the latest beta version 1.2.2.10.

When pressing <F1>, K-IDE will issue the commands "AcroRd32.exe" or "Acrobat.exe" as an external process with the PDF "ASRef_xx.pdf" as a command line parameter. The PC should not crash while starting an external process, even if the exe file is non existent or buggy.

Are you able to access any other PDF? Do you installed Acobat Reader?

I tested the latest K-IDE release version (1.1.3.0) on my private Win11 notebooks / PCs. I cannot reproduce a problem with the PDFs included in the software package on any of my Win11 computers.
